Job Description:
Overview of Unit/Department700 West Medical Oncology is an inviting and welcoming unit for both patients and staff. We are a 17-room, mostly private bed, unit. Our nursing staff is highly skilled in caring for oncology, end-of-life, and medical-surgical patients. Registered Nurses administer chemotherapy, assist in symptom management of cancer and other illnesses, provide end-of-life care, and perform many other nursing skills to care for patients. RNs work closely with other medical disciplines to provide excellent patient care and outcomes. Our unit is equipped with the latest technology, including the new virtual nursing program. We have an excellent and active educator and nurses receive continuing education to ensure they are current with best practice guidelines.

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for managing the care of the patients experiencing medical conditions or surgical procedures. The nurse must be able to assess patient condition, administer medications, change dressings, monitor vital signs, keep records and provide patients and families with support and education. The Registered Nurse maintains a wide array of medical care knowledge in order to care for a diverse group of patients.
Education
▪ Required: Graduate of an accredited nursing program or NLN approved program
▪ Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Experience:
▪ Preferred: Previous nursing experience
Skills:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrate effective leadership abilities

Licensure/Certification/Registration:
