Objective of the position
As a Product Engineer Mechanical Engineering you will work closely with Product Development and Operations teams to perform tasks linked to products already in mass production, as part of our Change Management team in the Series Engineering department.
Characterization of activities
- Maintain, and improve existing products by implementing design changes, performing design verification activities, and supporting production in resolving quality issues.
- Lead technical investigations and problem solving efforts to identify root causes and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Coordinate and execute engineering change activities, ensuring timely and accurate implementation across products and processes.
- Utilize Siemens NX, CAD, and PDM systems (Teamcenter/Pro.file) to manage product designs, technical documentation, and engineering data.
- Collaborate closely with project teams, suppliers, and customers while contributing technical expertise to DFMEAs, product innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Continuously enhance engineering tools, processes, and personal capabilities by driving improvement projects and expanding technical knowledge through collaboration with colleagues.
Education, Experience and Knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical field.
- 5-7 years of experience in product development, with hands-on experience using 3D CAD systems.
- Strong knowledge of automotive development standards and quality processes, including DFMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D, and requirements management.
- Experience with engineering change management, bill of materials (BOMs), supplier collaboration, and prototype procurement.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and reliability engineering skills, combined with hands-on laboratory experience and effective communication in cross-functional teams.
- Fluent in English; experience with Siemens NX, Pro.File PDM, supply chain processes, plastics/injection molding, die casting, and Dutch language skills are considered advantageous.
