As a member of the Product Design Engineering Department at Daimler Trucks Mexico Engineering Center (DTMEC), provide engineering solutions to Daimler Trucks North America (DTNA) in the Mechatronics area that are creative, technically-feasible, and of high quality, while adhering to DTNA Engineering standards, procedures, and strategic directions.

Indispensable Requirements (Candidates who do not meet these requirements may be discarded):

  • Minimun of 1.5-2 years of related experience required.
  • CHS wiring design experience preferred.
  • Electrical harnesses routing in NX experience preferred.
  • EC (Engineering Client) and PLATON experience required.
  •  IMACS design engineering (ENG-200) experience required.
  • English level: Intermediate B2

Soft Skills:

- Analysis and problem solving - Effective communication - Planning and organization - Project management -Decision making

Academic Knowledge: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field required.Degree in Mechatronics or Electrical Engineering preferred.

Main Functions:

- Responsibility: Expanded area of responsibility, including assignment of various Powertrain Wiring Engineering modules and systems of medium complexity. May assign tasks and guide junior level engineers.

- Design: According to the above described area of responsibility, create an-d manage models, drawings, bills of material, design charts and other engineering data of medium complexity using the DTNA product structure management and documentation release processes and platforms (NX, CHS, IMACS, IMACS+, ERS+, PLATON).

- Validation: Define validation requirements for new product designs in coordination with upper level engineering staff, and coordinate to assure they are satisfactorily completed to contribute to the excellence on the results delivered since the first time.

- Deliverables: Complete assigned projects, no larger than category 2A according to the DTNA Engineering Work Request Category Type, such that they meet established scope, quality, cost and timing to consistently achieve a high level of customer's satisfaction

- Issue Resolution: Provide containment and permanent solutions in a timely manner to all reported engineering issues promoting always an Agility culture within the DTMEC department.

-KPIs: Assure engineering activities support targets for all relevant DTNA Engineering Key Performance Indicators. Promptly address issues in areas of responsibility to contribute to the Operational Excellence in the DTMEC Mechatronics Powertrain Wiring Group.

-Continuous Improvement: Support creation and implementation of CI Initiatives for Design Optimization, Process Improvements, and Improved Performance of KPIs in assigned areas of responsibility to contribute to the Continuous Improvement culture that lead to efficiency improvements and to exceed customer's expectations..

- Communication: Maintain close communication with the Engineering Teams across regions via e-mail, conference calls, design reviews, etc., to assure alignment and projects remain on track. Provide frequent status reports to DTMEC Engineering management and DTNA stakeholders to ensure the strategic objectives are met.
