Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, Journeyman, you will:

• Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems.
• Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed systems.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Journeyman includes:

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics.
• Confer with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to design systems and to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.
• Integrate hardware / software in our System Integration Lab (SIL)
• Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed autopilot and avionics systems.
• Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework.
• Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
• Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C.
• Ensure software standards within our AS9100D quality management system are met.

 

Qualifications

The qualifications needed for this position include:

• BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science Required, MS Computer Engineering Preferred
• Minimum of 6 years of work experience with C/C++ and Qt.
• Minimum of 3 years of related work experience in the field of aircraft avionics
• Minimum of 1 year of work experience with a Real Time Operating System
• Active DoD Secret security Clearance

 

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $110,000.00/Yr. - USD $130,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
