We’re looking to hire a talented Commercial Excellence Director based in Denton, TX.
Reporting to the Sr. Director Commercial Excellence & Business Development the Commercial Excellence Director is responsible for driving commercial performance by leading strategic initiatives that improve sales effectiveness, business processes, analytics, and organizational capabilities. This role partners closely with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Product Management, and executive leadership to identify opportunities for growth, optimize commercial processes, and deliver data-driven solutions that enhance customer experience and business performance.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with strong analytical capabilities, project leadership experience, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams while driving measurable business results.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Business Performance
- Partner with commercial leadership to develop and execute strategies that improve revenue growth, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Analyze commercial performance, market trends, customer insights, and business metrics to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop actionable recommendations that support strategic business decisions.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across commercial functions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Facilitate discussions with stakeholders to identify business needs, challenges, and improvement opportunities.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to commercial leaders by providing data-driven insights and strategic recommendations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, Finance, Operations, Supply Chain, IT, and Product Management to execute business priorities.
- Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
Project & Program Management
- Lead high-impact commercial excellence initiatives from planning through execution.
- Develop project plans, timelines, resource requirements, and success metrics.
- Coordinate activities across multiple functional teams to ensure project alignment.
- Manage project risks, resolve issues, and communicate progress to stakeholders.
- Ensure initiatives are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
Commercial Analytics & Technical Expertise
- Apply advanced analytical techniques to diagnose business challenges and identify growth opportunities.
- Develop meaningful dashboards, KPIs, and performance reporting to support decision-making.
- Evaluate commercial processes and recommend best practices that improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Maintain knowledge of industry trends, competitive landscapes, and commercial excellence methodologies.
- Leverage data to measure the effectiveness of commercial programs and recommend improvements.
Team Leadership & Talent Development
- Mentor, coach, and develop junior team members.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on continuous improvement.
- Provide guidance, support, and subject matter expertise across project teams.
- Promote knowledge sharing and professional development throughout the organization.
Operational Excellence & Governance
- Support reporting processes, business reviews, and performance management activities.
- Assist in developing standardized commercial processes and governance models.
- Review, evaluate, and test internal controls to ensure compliance and process integrity.
- Contribute to the development of commercial tools, methodologies, and business services.
Business Growth & Innovation
- Identify opportunities to improve commercial capabilities and support business expansion.
- Partner with leadership to evaluate and implement new business initiatives.
- Support strategic growth programs through analysis, planning, and execution.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement across the commercial organization.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field required.
- MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
Experience
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in Commercial Excellence, Sales Operations, Business Strategy, Management Consulting, Business Analytics, or a related commercial leadership role.
- Experience leading cross-functional strategic initiatives and organizational change.
- Manufacturing or industrial business experience preferred.

Working Conditions
- Remains in a stationary position 50% of the time and involves additional physical demands such as ascending/descending stairs, walking stooping and standing.
- Must wear Personal Protective Equipment ‘PPE’ when working/visiting manufacturing and plant locations.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery including but not limited to printer, tablets, cell phones.
- Moves transports, puts, or removes equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.; pushes, pulls products weighing up to 200 lbs. using provided safety tools.
- May be exposed to varying weather during travel.
