Northrop Grumman Defense Systems (NGDS) is seeking Sr Principal Systems to join our team. The preferred candidate will be responsible for developing, analyzing, and managing systems requirements throughout the engineering lifecycle. Applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices to develop and maintain system architectures and models. Performing functional analysis, requirements allocation, interface definition, and system-level trade studies. Translating customer and program requirements into system specifications and technical solutions. Supporting systems integration, verification, and validation activities. Coordinating with software, hardware, test, and specialty engineering teams to resolve technical issues. Developing and maintaining technical documentation, architecture products, interface definitions, and engineering artifacts. Participating in technical reviews and communicating engineering solutions to program leadership and customers. Providing technical guidance and mentoring to other systems engineers. Supporting IBCS and integrated air and Missile defense (IAMD) capabilities, including the integration of sensors, effectors, command-and-control systems, and associated interfaces.
Basic Qualifications:
- Principal Engineer Systems (Level 3): 5 years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 1 Year with PhD
- Proficiency in Requirements Engineering and MBSE
- Experience with Cameo or MagicDraw
- Ability to understand system interface documentation, interconnect diagrams, and military standards
- Experience with Requirements Impact Assessments, Change Requests, and Engineering Change Proposals
- Active Secret Security Clearance
Preferred qualifications:
- IAMD/C2 experience
- Understanding of weapons, sensors, distributed computing, and command-and-control architecture
- Understanding how those systems affect requirements and interfaces
- Systems engineering experience in Agile environments
- Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS) /Link-16 experience
- Familiarity with PATRIOT, Sentinel, G/ATOR, or similar weapons sensor systems
