OVERVIEW
JOB TITLE: APEX Engineering Scholarship Ambassador
LOCATION: St. Paul Campus
PAY RATE: $20.00/hr.
JOB SUMMARY:
The APEX ("Alternative Pathways to Excellence") scholarship is a program supported by the National Science Foundation S-STEM Track 2 program, which will provide supports to a cohort of students each year, from 2022-2027. An APEX "ambassador" is a grant-sponsored role within this program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Supporting all APEX recruitment and co-curricular activities
- Joining visits to partner schools and hosting visiting prospective APEX scholars at on-campus events and tours
- Assisting with cohort-building activities
- Participating in the peer mentor training
- Serving as informal peer mentors
Ambassadors may be asked to take on some or all of these duties at different times during the cycle of the grant.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Upperclassmen engineering students, including APEX scholars and other engineering transfer students, who have completed at least one year at St. Thomas
ELIGIBILITY
To be eligible for student employment, St. Thomas students must be degree seeking at the undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels.
