WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Office of the Director, Latino Health Initiative, is recruiting for an enthusiastic and talented individual for Program Specialist II to join our team. We’re seeking a collaborative and community-focused professional with experience in health promotion, curriculum or training development, and community engagement with multicultural and multilingual populations. This position supports the Latino Health Initiative (LHI) by leading the development, coordination, and delivery of culturally and linguistically appropriate trainings, curricula, and educational materials in Spanish. The role centers on advancing health promotion strategies for Latino communities through popular education and participatory training methods.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
 

  • Facilitating Spanish language trainings and workshops using participatory/popular education techniques.
  • Developing bilingual curricula, training protocols, and educational materials tailored for Latino communities.
  • Coordinating annual work plans, program implementation timelines, and evaluation activities.
  • Supporting program budgets, contract monitoring, and reporting.
  • Developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations and practicum sites.
  • Providing multilingual community outreach, including digital health promotion and public speaking.
  • Supporting grant proposal components (narrative, work plan, data, etc.).
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned

This position requires the ability to attend meetings or perform work at locations outside the office. 


Work Schedule: Flexibility is required as program activities, community events, or outreach sessions may take place during evening or weekend hours. 


Telework: This position may be eligible for limited hybrid telework, up to two days per week after the initial training period.

Experience: Two (2) years of professional experience in curriculum development and training for Spanish-speaking populations.


Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree. 


Equivalency: An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. 


Medical Protocol: This position requires completion of a pre-employment Medical History Form to assess your ability to safely perform the essential duties of the role.

  • Ability to communicate effectively in Spanish and English in a professional setting.
  • Experience developing and implementing health promotion programs for multicultural or multilingual communities, including Latino populations.
  • Experience facilitating adult education using participatory or popular education techniques.
  • Experience developing educational materials or curricula for minority or multilingual populations.
  • Experience coordinating program indicators, data collection, evaluation, and reporting.
  • Experience developing and maintaining partnerships with community organizations or practicum sites.
  • Experience supporting the development of grant proposals, including narrative, work plan, budget, or data components.
