The School of Medicine is seeking a high-calibre individual who excels in a dynamic, fast-paced, and multi-tasking environment to support medical student recruitment and admissions as Manager (Student Recruitment & Admissions). The appointee will be responsible for handling student recruitment, admissions operations and program promotion related matters and will report to the Senior Manager (Student Recruitment & Admissions).
Key Responsibilities
- Support the development and implementation of admission policies, criteria, and procedures for the 4-year graduate entry MBBS program, including facilitating the liaison with relevant academic departments, external bodies, and admission committees – ensuring they comply with university policies, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements
- Provide administrative, logistical and operational support for the planning and execution of activities related to all aspects of admissions, including student recruitment events and marketing campaigns, application processing and evaluation, interview coordination, offer issuance, and enrolment
- Support the Admissions Subcommittee and interview panel by organizing meetings, preparing documents, managing schedules, and facilitating communications to ensure smooth admissions operations
- Maintain accurate records of applicants, admissions decisions, and related statistics using relevant database systems
- Analyze admissions data, and provide admissions informatics to facilitate senior management’s decision-making for continuous improvement related to student admissions
- Address enquiries from applicants, parents, and other stakeholders in a timely and professional manner
- Supervise and mentor junior staff where appropriate, foster a collaborative and innovative work environment in pursuit of achieving the University’s goals
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Entry Requirements
- A recognized Bachelor’s degree
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant post-qualification work experience within a sizeable organization or a tertiary institution in the education sector. Ideal applicants should possess good knowledge of, and experience in, best practices in tertiary-level student admissions, including student information systems, together with an understanding of the unique opportunities and challenges in the medical education landscape
- Strong team player with a proactive attitude and a sense of ownership and accountability
- Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal, communication, and analytical skills are essential
- A high level of attention to detail, the ability to multitask, work independently and collaborate effectively, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines are required
- Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese, including Cantonese and Putonghua, is necessary
- Relevant computer application and IT skills are expected
Work outside normal office hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, may occasionally be required.
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of a 2-year contract. Renewable subject to good performance and mutual agreement.
