Job Posting Title:

Photo Analyst

Req ID:

10157435

Job Description:

The Photo Analyst is a senior operational role responsible for coordinating and maintaining the business, logistics, and asset workflows that support visual production and publication. This role ensures that projects move efficiently from assignment through delivery, remain on schedule, and meet organizational standards for rights, metadata, and asset management.

Working across multiple projects, the position maintains visibility into workflows, tracks progress and supports consistency across systems and teams. Unlike creative or editorial roles, this role is focused on operational coordination and execution, helping enable photographers, videographers, editors, and cross-functional partners to work effectively by ensuring processes are clear, accurate, and reliably maintained.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage visual-related workflows from assignment through final publication and archive, ensuring all deliverables are completed accurately and on schedule

  • Coordinate the intake, organization, and delivery of visual assets across systems, maintaining consistency in file naming, metadata, captions, and credits

  • Track and manage releases, rights, and usage documentation, ensuring all materials are properly collected, logged, and compliant with established policies

  • Partner with Business Affairs, Legal, and Rights & Clearances teams to support submission and verification of required documentation

  • Support delivery of assets for print, digital, and external vendors, ensuring files meet technical and timing requirements

  • Maintain project tracking tools and documentation to monitor workflow progress, deadlines, and outstanding needs

  • Coordinate across internal teams and external contributors to secure assets, releases, captions, and required materials

  • Organize and maintain asset systems and documentation across platforms including AirTable, Media Grid, Atris, NetDocs, and Unison

  • Schedule meetings, capture notes, and support communication across teams to ensure alignment and follow-through

  • Identify workflow gaps, missing information, or delays and proactively follow up to resolve issues

  • Support reporting, archival processes, and final project closeout to ensure assets and documentation are complete and properly stored

Basic Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of experience in media operations, production administration, asset management, or related fields

  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail, particularly in managing assets, metadata, and documentation

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a deadline-driven environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to coordinate across teams

  • Experience working with structured workflows, tracking systems, and process-driven environments

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel

  • Experience working in publishing, editorial, or content production environments

  • Familiarity with digital asset management systems such as Media Grid, NetDocs, Unison, or similar platforms

  • Experience supporting rights, releases, licensing, or archival workflows

  • Understanding of print and digital production processes

Required Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience

The hiring range for this position in Washington, DC is $79,400 - $106,400 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
