As the Contract Specialist (R&D Procurement)-1 in Procurement you will work collaboratively with business owners across the world and other Procurement colleagues based in regions.
The successful candidate will develop solutions to facilitate faster delivery for business owners, lead departmental projects, and be accountable for delivering against performance goals.
The ideal candidate will possess excellent negotiation and communication skills, be results-oriented, and have a passion for collaborating and building relationships
Key responsibilities
Execute sourcing and contracting processes, while balancing risks.
Negotiate and execute agreements in a timely manner under a defined category or contracting strategy.
Apply legal principles in a global environment, effectively cooperate and communicating with cross-functional teams (Legal, Finance or other functions) as needed.
Build relationships and ensure effective communication with key internal stakeholders; understand business requirements, support non-standard workflow requests, position Procurement’s value proposition.
Establish sourcing approach & benchmarking opportunities for negotiated contracts
Negotiate commercial terms of agreement ensuring best value for money
Build and lead relationships with suppliers to ensure the value of the supplier-Haleon relationship is optimized.
Consistently demonstrate Haleon’s values and behaviors, foster the environment of a modern employer. Contribute to cultural change to enable an organization focused on decision-making, accountability, quality, speed, performance, results, and collaboration.
Ensure contracting activities comply with relevant regulatory standards & internal policies. Identify and mitigate risks related to supplier performance, regulatory compliance, and supply chain continuity.
Develop understanding of consumer needs in OH, OTC & VMS categories
Essential Qualifications and skills
University Degree (preferable: Supply Chain, Procurement, Science)
Min 3 year of relevant procurement experience (strategic sourcing, strategic relationship management, contract management) with strong negotiation experience
Literacy of Ariba systems or similar tool
Strong collaboration and influencing skills supported by effective communication skills.
Ability to successfully translate business needs into a contractual agreement.
Understanding of R&D field
English proficiency (written and oral), other language will be a plus
Preferred Qualifications and skills
Experience in Consumer Healthcare industry
CIPS qualified
Flexibility in learning new competencies on-job in procurement environment
Experience in working across geographies in complex environment
