Position Summary
The Senior Finance Systems Analyst serves as a key liaison between Finance, organizational leadership, project teams, and the Workday Administration team. This position supports Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive Planning, internal reporting, merger and acquisition (M&A) integration, project management, and continuous process improvement. The role translates financial and operational needs into effective system, reporting, and process solutions. Responsibilities include leading projects and workstreams, supporting finance-related integration activities, providing functional support for Workday Financials and Adaptive Planning, supporting budget and forecast processes, and performing routine system administrative tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Project Management
Lead or coordinate assigned Finance, financial systems, reporting, planning, and integration projects from planning through implementation.
Develop project plans that identify scope, objectives, deliverables, timelines, milestones, resource needs, and dependencies.
Facilitate project meetings, document decisions and action items, and ensure appropriate follow-up.
Monitor project progress and communicate status, accomplishments, risks, issues, and upcoming milestones to stakeholders and leadership.
Coordinate user acceptance testing, implementation readiness, communication, training, and post-implementation support.
Develop process documentation, workflows, job aids, and training materials.
Merger and Acquisition Integration
Support finance-related M&A and organizational integration activities.
Assess acquired entities’ financial processes, reporting structures, systems, and data requirements.
Coordinate assigned finance integration workstreams, including project plans, deliverables, timelines, risks, and dependencies.
Support the integration of new companies, locations, programs, cost centers, and other organizational structures.
Assist with financial data mapping, conversion, reconciliation, testing, and post-implementation validation.
Identify differences between legacy processes and systems and help develop consistent future-state processes.
Finance Systems and Workday Support
Serve as a Finance subject matter resource for Workday Financials, Workday Adaptive Planning, and related financial systems.
Partner with the Workday Administration team to evaluate, test, and implement system changes, enhancements, and new functionality.
Research system issues, identify root causes, and coordinate solutions with system administrators, Finance, vendors, and other stakeholders.
Maintain system procedures, configuration documentation, job aids, and training materials.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Adaptive Planning
Provide functional and system support for Workday Adaptive Planning.
Partner with Financial Planning & Analysis team and Finance leadership to support annual budget, monthly forecast, and long-range planning processes.
Assist with maintaining Adaptive Planning models, assumptions, dimensions, levels, versions, sheets, reports, dashboards, and integrations.
Support budget and forecast preparation, data loads, system validation, user access, workflow, and reporting.
Monitor system processes and data integrations between Adaptive Planning, Workday Financials, and related reporting tools.
Financial Reporting
Develop, maintain, and enhance internal financial and management reports.
Collaborate with Finance and operational leaders to understand reporting needs and translate them into meaningful reporting solutions.
Create and maintain Workday reports, dashboards, and related reporting tools within the role’s assigned responsibilities.
Validate report calculations, data sources, worktags, organizational structures, and security access.
Identify opportunities to standardize reporting, reduce manual effort, and improve the accessibility and reliability of financial information.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of financial accounting, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and internal-control concepts.
Working knowledge of financial systems, enterprise resource planning systems, and reporting tools.
Knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and documentation practices.
Ability to understand Finance requirements and translate them into system, reporting, or process solutions.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
Strong written, verbal, presentation, and meeting-facilitation skills.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and projects while maintaining accurate and confidential information.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, information systems, project management, or a related field. Equivalent relevant education and experience may be considered.
Five or more years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, financial reporting, finance systems, accounting, project management, or a related area.
Experience supporting an enterprise financial system or ERP platform or Planning software.
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with financial and operational data.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading or coordinating cross-functional projects from planning through implementation.
Experience with Workday Financials, Workday reporting, Workday Adaptive Planning and Office Connect.
Experience supporting budget, forecast, and long-range planning processes.
Experience developing project plans, managing timelines and deliverables, facilitating meetings, tracking risks and issues, and communicating with stakeholders.
Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, affiliations, or organizational integrations.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Work is performed in an office, clinical, residential, and/or community-based environment depending on role and assignment. The position may involve routine use of office, clinical, or electronic systems and equipment. Duties may require prolonged periods of sitting, standing, walking, and working at a computer. Work hours may include evenings, weekends, holidays, or extended shifts based on program needs. This position is classified as sedentary work. Sedentary work involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
