Position Overview
The Service Technician Lead Hand is responsible for coordinating and directing service department workloads to support efficiency, productivity, and quality repair work. This role provides technical support to technicians and apprentices and works closely with management to identify training needs and support daily shop operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with assigning jobs and work areas to service department employees based on their skills and knowledge.
- Assist in the review and assessment of repair orders entering the service department.
- Participate in repairs as required and review repair orders for accuracy and completeness.
- Direct and assist technicians and apprentices in diagnosing equipment and machine problems.
- Inspect and repair special tools and recommend new tooling as required.
- Advise management of customer complaints.
- Assist with coordinating and conducting safety meetings.
- Fulfill the Shop Foreman role when required.
- Arrange for and participate in the reconditioning of used equipment and setup of new equipment.
- Approve the release of equipment for customer delivery when required.
- Assist in providing performance feedback and identifying technician training needs.
Qualifications

Required Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Service Technician.
- Journeyman Certificate required.
- CVIP Licence considered an asset.
