Job Overview:

We are currently seeking an Assistant Driver to join our team in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting our drivers in the safe and timely delivery of goods to our clients. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the driver in loading and unloading goods onto the truck
• Ensure that all goods are properly secured and protected during transportation
• Help with route planning and navigation to ensure timely delivery
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
• Report any vehicle maintenance issues to the driver or supervisor
• Communicate with clients in a professional and courteous manner
• Follow all safety regulations and company policies at all times

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Familiarity with local roads and routes
• Ability to work flexible hours and weekends as needed
