Job Summary
Functions as subject matter expert in one or more of the following areas: Microsoft server applications, Citrix applications, Virtual Machine applications, SAN, and/or directory infrastructure applications. Responsible for server infrastructure hardware and new server installation, troubleshooting and maintenance. Performs project installation duties, maintaining schedule and budget requirements. Leads and teaches other Engineers on new server technologies, best practices, customer service and troubleshooting server issues. Independently oversees high visibility server projects. Monitors server health assists with resolving a variety of I/S problems and systems. Designs new server environments and looks ahead to implement new server applications. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected as part of the job performance as well as the ability to rely on judgment and experience to accomplish goals. Mentors internal team members in their roles and supervises work efforts as directed.Essential Functions

Assists with developing architectural plans for server system infrastructure projects to meet business directives. May prepare project plans including scheduling, cost analysis, and other operational concerns. Participates in project and committee meetings for all projects. Anticipates future system and server infrastructure needs, makes suggestions and implement system projects.
Gathers design specifications for storage systems and necessary OS applications running the systems in collaboration with IS Application Analysts, IS internal teams and / or internal customers. Designs and develops new configurations in the server lab. Designs systems to ensure scalability and integrity of the Prisma Health infrastructure. Ensures all known defects are corrected before implementing into production network. Takes responsibility for production roll out.
Manages and leads implementation of multiple simultaneous server infrastructure projects. Installs, upgrades, troubleshoots and maintains server related software and hardware. Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves major system issues within defined time limits. Works onsite during scheduled downtimes along with the rest of the Systems Engineering Team to lead in new implementations, upgrades or problem resolution.
Assists in evaluation, recommendation, implementation and operational monitoring tools and applications and proactively monitors the functional health of the servers. Receives, resolves, and documents user problems and requests relating to server environment within required time frames. Serves as level 3 escalation with unscheduled network outages. Shares on-call rotation as the first contact for system related problems.
Maintains accurate records of maintenance, and asset inventory associated with system infrastructure. Documents procedures and processes for maintenance and installation of network equipment. Maintains up-to-date and accurate network documentation and diagrams. Updates annually.
Mentors and trains assigned team members on internal standards for implementation planning, work plan development, project management, system support and customer service.
Maintains technology contingency plan documentation for area of responsibility, ensuring the plan is updated and tested at least once annually.
Performs other duties as assigned.

This is a non-management job that will report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.
Minimum Requirements
Education - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field of study
Experience - Five (5) years server experience to include but not limited to, Microsoft Server 2000, 2003, 2008 32 bit and 64 bits, DHCP, DNS, WINS Active Directory 2003, 2008, Microsoft Hyper-V. Troubleshooting Server issues for both OS and applications

In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, an Associate' degree and eight (8) years relevant experience may be considered
In lieu of the education and experience requirements noted above, High School Diploma or equivalent with ten (10) years relevant experience may be considered.
