Your mission

We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Oceanfreight Specialist to join our F/F Ocean team in Hamburg (or Eschborn). In this role, you will be responsible for handling and coordinating overseas general cargo import shipments by ocean freight, ensuring smooth operational processes, reliable customer communication, and compliance with internal and external requirements.

  • Organize and coordinate import shipments via ocean freight, including FCL and LCL shipments.
  • Receive, check, and process shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, and certificates.
  • Coordinate customs clearance procedures in close collaboration with customs brokers.
  • Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely arrival, release, and delivery.
  • Communicate with shipping lines, agents, warehouses, truckers, and customers regarding shipment status, arrival notices, container release, and delivery scheduling.
  • Update and maintain shipment data in internal systems such as TMS or ERP tools.
  • Prepare and issue import-related documentation for internal and external purposes.
  • Provide customers with regular shipment updates and proactively resolve operational issues.
  • Verify freight invoices and support cost calculations for billing purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
  • Support daily administrative tasks, participate in weekly meetings, and contribute ideas for process improvements.
  • Support the further development of existing business, customer relationships, and agent networks.

Your profile

  • Completed apprenticeship in freight forwarding or a comparable logistics qualification.
  • At least 4 years of professional experience in forwarding operations, ideally with a focus on ocean freight import.
  • Good knowledge of import processes, customs clearance, and international transport documentation.
  • Experience with dangerous goods and customs procedures is an advantage.
  • Confident handling of MS Office and preferably experience with forwarding systems such as CargoWise, IMP, TMS, or ERP tools.
  • Strong communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset.
  • Structured, reliable, and solution-oriented working style, especially in time-critical or unexpected situations.
  • Team player with a proactive attitude and willingness to contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Good command of English and  Korean; German language skills are an advantage for daily business communication.

Why us?
