Summary
Manages the material control function and team to ensure accurate, timely ERP transactions,batch postings, and documentation. Owns cycle count program performance and supports
physical inventory planning and execution. Establishes procedures and controls, partners
with Accounting on period close and reconciliation, and drives KPI visibility and process
improvements. Ensures document retention compliance and audit readiness.
What You'll Do
- Lead and develop the material control team hiring, coaching,
performance reviews, workload planning, cross-training. Set
vision, policies, and SOPs for material control; standardize
processes and controls across division. - Oversee subledger-to-GL reconciliations and approvals for
inventory adjustments; ensure accurate and timely close
support. Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards inventory
accuracy, count effectiveness, adjustments, exception aging, ontime close. - Ensure document retention, segregation of duties, and quality
compliance; respond to audits and remediation plans. Partner
with Finance, Operations, Purchasing, and IT to resolve systemic
issues, improve data governance, and enhance ERPWMS usage. - Manage process improvement and automation barcoding,
scanning, labelling, mobile transactions; manage related change
management. Manage resources for the material control
function; assess risks and implement mitigating controls.
What You Need
- Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Business, Accounting)
- 6+ years in material inventory control or related functions, including 2 years in a supervisory role
- Hands-on experience with major ERPs SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar
- Proven record improving accuracy, cycle count effectiveness, and close timeliness
- APICSASCM CPIM or CSCP preferred
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent process improvement training preferred
