POSITION SUMMARY
The Revenue Manager is a resort-embedded member of Alterra’s centralized Revenue Management Shared Services team, responsible for driving revenue performance through pricing, product, and distribution strategy across lift tickets, season passes, lodging, ski & ride school and rentals. The primary focus is to grow skier visits, optimize visit mix across paid ticket and passholder segments, and increase revenue per visit through higher ancillary penetration. This role is accountable for delivering measurable revenue outcomes for the resort.
Reporting to the Regional Director of Commercial Excellence, this role serves as the Revenue Management lead for resort services and a trusted partner to resort leadership. As an embedded member of the local team, the Revenue Manager works closely with Resort Presidents, Marketing, FP&A, and operational leaders to align pricing, product strategy, demand generation, and financial planning. They translate data and insights into clear, actionable strategies that drive results and ensure alignment across the resort.
Success in this role requires strong day-to-day partnership with resort teams, strong analytical and commercial judgment, and the ability to independently manage Revenue Management activities within established frameworks while escalating and partnering on more complex strategic decisions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Own revenue performance across resort services and lodging, with accountability for delivering measurable results across visitation, occupancy, ADR, revenue, and revenue per visit
- Manage and execute pricing, product, inventory, and distribution strategies across lift tickets, season passes, lodging, ski & ride school and rentals, informed by guest behavior and demand patterns
- Lead the weekly revenue management and commercial performance meeting at the resort, driving in-season performance management, pricing and inventory decisions, and alignment with resort leadership
- Analyze performance and demand trends, translate insights into clear actions, and identify product, pricing, packaging, and promotional opportunities to drive incremental revenue
- Partner closely with resort leadership and department heads as an embedded member of the local team to align Revenue Management strategies with operational plans and contribute to annual planning, in-season decisions, and post-season reviews
- Own forecasting and reporting across resort services and lodging, including revenue forecasting by product, lodging occupancy and ADR, pace reporting, and visibility into key commercial metrics
- Manage lodging pricing, inventory, packaging, and distribution strategies in alignment with broader resort commercial objectives
- Identify and execute opportunities to increase ancillary penetration, product attachment, and bundling across lodging, lessons, rentals, and other on-mountain products
- Contribute resort-specific insights and best practices to regional and company-wide Revenue Management initiatives
- Support ad hoc analyses and projects related to pricing, product development, and commercial strategy
COMPETENCIES
- Strong ownership and accountability; proactively identifies opportunities and takes responsibility for delivering results
- Competitive and results-oriented, with a strong drive to deliver against targets and continuously improve performance
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to work with data and develop analyses that support pricing, product, and commercial decisions
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, with the ability to balance revenue, demand, and guest experience
- Ability to build trust and credibility with resort teams and operate effectively as an embedded partner within a decentralized organization
- Bias for action; able to move from analysis to decisions and drive execution in a dynamic environment
- Ability to translate analysis into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for business stakeholders
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate recommendations and build alignment with resort and cross-functional partners
- Ability to think holistically across products and the full guest journey, not just individual revenue streams
- Ability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment and build strong relationships with resort and central teams
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work within defined timelines
- Proficiency in Excel, including modeling and scenario analysis, and presentation tools such as PowerPoint
