There is currently one vacancy located at Costa Mesa High School working 8 hours per day, 5 days per week, 12 months per year.
A male is required for this assignment; however, females are encouraged to put in an interest card in the event that a female is needed for future open positions. Gender is a bona fide occupational qualification for these positions and is determined by whether or not the position works in and around the boys' or girls' locker room facilities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Any combination equivalent to: graduation from high school and two years of experience performing athletic equipment repair or general custodial duties.
LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
Valid California Class C driver's license.
Valid First Aid and CPR Certification issued by an authorized agency must be obtained within six months of employment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Receive, store, issue and control inventory of uniforms, equipment and supplies to Physical Education classes and athletic teams; inspect for proper fit and protection; mark equipment; assure that equipment issued to students is returned.
Issue loaned uniforms to students; inspect and launder returned items returned; perform minor repair of uniforms and equipment as necessary.
Oversee the activities of students utilizing the locker room; assign lockers and issue locks to students; assist students having problems with locks; repair locks as needed; set combination locks.
Set up and dismantle equipment for a variety of student activities and special events; layout, line and set up athletic fields; weed and remove trash from athletic fields; water and mow athletic fields as necessary; drag track, softball and baseball fields.
Perform a variety of custodial duties including vacuuming, dusting, mopping and sweeping; pick up trash and empty waste receptacles; remove gum and graffiti from locker room and gymnasium facilities; stock restroom supplies; lock and unlock locker rooms, hallways and surrounding areas as required.
Assist in estimating need for physical education and athletic supplies and equipment; maintain inventory records; recommend equipment for repair or replacement; inventory and issue athletic awards as required.
Maintain a variety of records including locker assignments and equipment usage; prepare various reports related to assigned activities.
Operate a variety of athletic and custodial equipment.
Travel with athletic teams as assigned; pick up and drop off District vehicles for coaches; assist in setting up and operating equipment as necessary; drive a vehicle to conduct work.
Perform basic first aid as needed.
