A Day in the Life

The Neurovascular operating unit partners with healthcare professionals to advance the treatment of stroke and other neurovascular conditions through innovative medical technologies and evidence-based clinical support. The Clinical Specialist serves as a key field-based resource, working closely with physicians, hospital teams, distributors, and commercial partners to support therapy adoption, procedural excellence, customer education, and market development across the Neurovascular portfolio.

This is a field-based position based in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia. The role requires frequent travel throughout Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia to support procedural case coverage, customer engagements, training activities, and business initiatives. Flexibility to provide clinical and emergency procedural support outside standard business hours is required.
The Clinical Specialist, Neurovascular provides clinical, technical, and commercial support to healthcare customers while serving as a trusted partner during neurovascular procedures. This role collaborates with physicians, hospital stakeholders, sales teams, and internal business partners to support customer education, product utilisation, market development initiatives, and procedural case coverage.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Responsible for working with field sales and corporate teams to identify, create, prioritize, and pursue market development opportunities and patient awareness campaigns. Will work closely with sales reps and new customers to remove barriers to growing their practices.

  • Partner with marketing and clinical education to coordinate local physician training, new product in- services, launch events, educational programs, and dissemination of practice economics information to physician base.

  • Provide advanced clinical and technical support for coverage of relevant procedures.  Educate physicians and support staff on product instructions for use, troubleshooting, clinical data, industry news, and relevant competitive positioning. 

  • Promotes and sells Medtronic's Neurovascular products and services within an assigned geographic area and /or specific customer accounts to meet or exceed sales targets.

  • Responsible for developing, building, and strengthening long-term relationships with stakeholders including distributors, surgeons, nurses, and key opinion leaders.

  • Responsible for pursuing leads, assessing needs and providing product services to maximize the benefits derived from Medtronic's Neurovascular products and/or services.

  • Conducts and/or evaluates market research including customers and competitors activities.

  • Mobility & Travel: Frequent domestic outstation travel across the whole of Malaysia (Peninsular and East Malaysia) as required for case coverage and customer engagements.

  • On-Call & Flexibility: Must be willing and able to provide clinical and emergency procedural case support outside standard business hours.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical, technical, healthcare, medical device, sales, or related technical experience; OR an advanced degree with 0 years of experience; OR (APAC only) High School Diploma with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience; OR Associate Diploma with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience.

  • Experience working in a customer-facing healthcare, medical device, clinical support, technical support, or commercial role.

  • Ability to travel frequently throughout Malaysia, including Peninsular Malaysia and East Malaysia, to support customer and procedural requirements.

  • Ability to provide on-call and emergency procedural support outside standard business hours when required.

  • Valid driver's licence and ability to travel independently within the assigned territory.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or selling Neurovascular medical devices.

  • Knowledge of neurovascular procedures, medical terminology, operating theatre workflows, or catheterisation laboratory environments.

  • Experience coordinating physician training programmes, customer education activities, marketing initiatives, or product launches.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to manage multiple activities and stakeholder groups concurrently.
