Lab Technician (Cleanroom & Nanofabrication Facilities)

The Lab Technician at NTU’s National Centre for Advanced Integrated Photonics (NCAIP) will support the daily operation, maintenance, and safe use of CDPT cleanroom facilities. The role involves maintaining and troubleshooting fabrication equipment (e.g., FIB, EBL, RIE, ALD, deposition systems), managing consumables and inventory, and ensuring high equipment uptime and safety compliance. The successful candidate will administer booking systems, coordinate facility usage, support fabrication processes, train users on equipment operation and work on cleanroom operational and safety protocols in collaboration with superusers.

Responsibilities:

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot nanofabrication equipment

• Manage cleanroom consumables and ensure facility readiness

• Train and certify users; enforce SOPs and safety compliance

• Administer booking systems and coordinate equipment usage

• Support fabrication processes and research activities

Job Requirements:

• Diploma with at least 3 years of experience or a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field.

• Hands on experience in cleanroom or nanofabrication environments.

• Familiarity with tools such as FIB, EBL, RIE, lithography, or thin film deposition systems.

• Strong safety awareness and good documentation and record-keeping practices.

• Responsible, methodical, and able to support multiple users in a shared facility.
