Telephone Operator - Per-Diem

Communication is essential to the delivery of quality patient care. No matter what your role, everyone is a caregiver at NewYork-Presbyterian. Our Telephone Operators quickly relay information while getting every detail right, while providing our patients and their families with exceptional service. The Telephone Operator utilizes the telecom system console, Rover notifications, private band radio to answer and direct all incoming calls to appropriate source, including hospital staff, psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers. They utilize the Rover system to alert hospital staff and personnel when they are needed. The telephone operator is responsible for communicating emergencies, including but not limited to psychiatric emergencies, “911” related emergencies & fire events/drills. They are the comforting voice for family members wishing to connect with loved ones and ensure the consistent delivery of excellent customer service.

This position will cover all shifts, days, evenings and nights as needed (flexibility is needed), at NewYork -Presbyterian Westchester Behavioral Health Center.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bilingual strongly preferred
