General Manager
Garden of the Gods Market & Cafe | Colorado Springs, CO
Lead the Next Chapter of a Colorado Springs Favorite
Altitude Hospitality Group is seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial General Manager to lead Garden of the Gods Market & Cafe, an established Colorado Springs restaurant concept with more than 15 years of history.
This is not simply a position for someone looking to maintain an existing operation.
It is a dynamic opportunity for the right hospitality leader to take a well-established concept and help shape what comes next. We are looking for someone who can respect what has made Garden of the Gods Market & Cafe successful while bringing fresh energy, strong leadership, creative ideas, and a renewed focus on growth.
The right GM will see opportunity everywhere — in the guest experience, team culture, menu and service evolution, community engagement, operational efficiencies, and creative ways to drive traffic and sales.
We want a leader who is excited to make an impact, challenge the status quo when appropriate, and help breathe new life into a restaurant with a strong foundation and years of history in the Colorado Springs community.
If you are the kind of hospitality professional who enjoys building teams, improving businesses, creating memorable guest experiences, and having a meaningful voice in the direction of a restaurant, this is an opportunity to truly make your mark.
The Role
The General Manager is responsible for the overall performance and daily operations of Garden of the Gods Market & Cafe, with direct accountability for sales growth, profitability, guest experience, team development, and operational excellence.
This position requires a highly visible, hands-on leader who understands both hospitality and the financial discipline required to operate a successful restaurant.
You will work closely with culinary leadership and Altitude Hospitality Group's support team while taking ownership of the restaurant's performance and continued evolution.
What You’ll Own
- Develop and execute strategies to increase sales, traffic, and profitability.
- Bring fresh ideas and energy to an established restaurant while protecting the strengths of the brand.
- Take ownership of the restaurant's financial performance, including revenue, labor, food and beverage costs, purchasing, supplies, and overall profit and loss.
- Create an exceptional, consistent guest experience.
- Recruit, develop, coach, and retain a high-performing management and hourly team.
- Build a positive, accountable workplace culture with clear expectations.
- Work closely with culinary leadership to improve efficiency, consistency, quality, menu execution, and profitability.
- Identify opportunities to improve restaurant systems, service, staffing, and day-to-day operations.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels while balancing excellent hospitality with responsible labor management.
- Conduct employee orientation, training, coaching, performance reviews, and corrective action when necessary.
- Maintain high standards for food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, maintenance, and workplace safety.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and all applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations.
- Respond thoughtfully and professionally to guest concerns and create opportunities to turn dissatisfied guests into loyal customers.
- Maintain a strong presence on the floor and remain connected to both guests and employees.
- Build relationships within the Colorado Springs community and identify opportunities for partnerships, events, and increased local awareness.
- Communicate effectively with culinary leadership, restaurant managers, and corporate support staff.
- Collaborate on purchasing, vendor relationships, operational planning, and cost controls.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for an experienced restaurant operator who combines strong business and operational knowledge with genuine hospitality and an entrepreneurial mindset.
The ideal candidate is someone who doesn't simply ask:
“How have we always done it?”
They ask:
“What could this become?”
You should be comfortable taking ownership, making decisions, developing people, analyzing financial performance, identifying opportunities, and turning ideas into action.
Experience & Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of hospitality management or General Manager experience required.
- Experience managing a restaurant or hospitality operation generating $3 million or more in annual revenue preferred.

- Proven ability to recruit, lead, motivate, and develop restaurant teams.
- Strong guest-service instincts and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Working knowledge of safe food-handling practices and sanitation standards.
- Comfortable learning and working with restaurant POS systems and basic computer applications.
- Professional, approachable, positive, and confident leadership style.
- Ability to work collaboratively while also taking ownership and making decisions.
- Must be eligible to work in the United States.
Schedule & Availability
This is a full-time leadership position requiring flexibility based on the needs of the restaurant.
Typical schedule is approximately 50–55 hours per week, with additional hours occasionally required during high-volume periods, special events, and peak seasons.
Open availability is required, including the ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays when business demands require it.
