Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Therapeutic Execution: Assist patients in performing therapeutic exercises, functional activities, and self-care routines as outlined in their individualized OT plan of care.
- Skill Development & Independence: Teach patients with physical disabilities or injuries adaptive techniques and strategies to increase personal independence and facilitate return-to-work goals.
- Patient & Caregiver Education: Train patients, family members, and caregivers on home exercises, adaptive equipment usage, and safety techniques to support continuous recovery.
Documentation & Department Support:
- Progress Tracking: Monitor and document patient progress, clinical milestones, and response to treatment, updating health records for OT review.
- Department Operations: Maintain clean, organized, and safe treatment areas; sanitize equipment and ensure clinical supplies are stocked and ready for patient care.
Candidate Requirements & Qualifications:
- COTA Licensure: Active, unrestricted State License as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) [Required].
- Life Support: Active Basic Life Support (BLS) / CPR certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) [Required].
Education & Experience:
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program [Required].
- Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years of COTA experience [Preferred].
- Setting Experience: Prior experience in Long-Term Care (LTC) or Inpatient/Outpatient Rehabilitation environments [Preferred].
