Chief of Staff 

Salary: £80,000 to £91,000 + 20% performance bonus

Working location: Milton Keynes, with regular travel to London and other locations as required 

Employment type: Full time, Permanent

Job summary: 

A pivotal Executive Office role working closely with the CEO and Executive Committee to turn organisational priorities into coordinated action. You will strengthen executive decision-making, maintain focus on strategic delivery and help the leadership team operate cohesively and effectively.

 

What you’ll be doing

Coordinate the Executive Committee agenda, papers, decisions and follow-up actions to support effective collective leadership. 

 

• Maintain oversight of strategic priorities and cross-organisational initiatives, identifying risks, dependencies, gaps in ownership and matters requiring Executive intervention. 

• Provide trusted support and constructive challenge to the CEO and Executive Directors, anticipating issues and enabling timely decisions. 

• Support major organisational change and transformation priorities requiring coordination across Executive portfolios. 

• Work with Company Secretariat to align Executive activity with Board and governance requirements. 

• Help develop effective and resilient ways of working across the Executive Office, in partnership with the Executive Assistant team. 

• Produce concise executive briefings, reports and analysis while building trusted relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders. 

 

 

What we’re looking for

Significant senior-level experience in a Chief of Staff, strategic business management, programme management or comparable role within a complex organisation.

 

• Proven ability to support CEOs, Executive teams or Boards and coordinate complex priorities across multiple senior stakeholders. 

• Excellent judgement, discretion and political awareness, with the confidence to challenge constructively and influence without direct authority. 

• Outstanding written, verbal and analytical skills, including the ability to turn complex information into concise briefings, recommendations and actions. 

• Strong strategic, governance and programme-management capability, with a practical focus on delivery. 

• A collaborative and resilient approach, with the confidence to operate autonomously in a fast-moving environment
