Business Analyst II

Role Purpose 

The AI Business Analyst will identify, assess, and champion opportunities to apply AI and automation across internal business functions. This role bridges the gap between business needs and AI capability — working closely with stakeholders across departments to understand pain points, map processes, and build the case for where AI/automation can drive efficiency, cost savings, or improved employee experience, then supporting adoption once solutions are approved. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Partner with department leads and teams across the business (Finance, HR, Operations, IT, Customer Service, etc.) to identify manual, repetitive, or inefficient processes that could benefit from AI or automation. 

• Conduct process mapping and requirements-gathering workshops to document current-state workflows and pain points. 

• Assess and prioritize AI/automation opportunities based on feasibility, business impact, cost, and effort, building business cases to support investment decisions. 

• Research and evaluate available AI tools, platforms, and use cases (internal and external) relevant to identified opportunities. 

• Work with IT/Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications for AI/automation solutions. 

• Support pilot programs and proof-of-concepts for new AI use cases, tracking outcomes and measuring impact against defined success metrics. 

• Develop training materials, guides, and change management plans to support internal adoption of new AI tools and workflows. 

• Track and report on AI/automation adoption metrics across the organization, highlighting wins, blockers, and areas for further investment. 

• Stay current on AI/automation trends and best practices, bringing relevant ideas back into the business. 

• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams throughout the solution lifecycle, from ideation through rollout and adoption. 

Required Skills & Experience 

• 3+ years of experience in a Business Analyst, Process Improvement, or Business Transformation role. 

• Demonstrated experience identifying and scoping automation or process improvement initiatives (RPA, workflow automation, AI-driven tools, or similar). 

• Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage confidently with teams across all levels of the business. 

• Experience with process mapping and documentation tools/methods (e.g. Lucidchart). 

• Analytical mindset with the ability to build business cases, including cost-benefit and ROI analysis. 

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain AI/automation concepts to non-technical audiences. 

• Experience working cross-functionally with IT/technical teams to translate business needs into requirements. 

• Familiarity with common AI tools and use cases (e.g., generative AI assistants, RPA platforms, workflow automation tools) and how they apply to business operations. 

Preferred / Nice to Have 

• Direct experience working with generative AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.) in a business setting. 

• Experience with change management frameworks and driving user adoption of new tools/technology. 

• Exposure to RPA tools (UiPath, Power Automate, Automation Anywhere) or low-code/no-code platforms. 

Qualifications 

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
