This individual is responsible for diagnostics, preventative maintenance, and repairs on equipment, vehicles, magic carpet and rope tow at the Frisco Adventure Park and Nordic Center operations. This individual’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, snow maintenance tasks such as snowmaking, snow removal and storage, based on operational needs. Must be safety focused, highly organized, able to work independently to solve problems, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to appropriately carry out the needs of the operation. This is a physically demanding position requiring the use of hand tools, power tools, and manual labor. This position also includes indoor work related to maintenance documentation, electronic service logs, and shop manuals.

Essential Functions
- Performs or assists with mechanical repairs and preventative maintenance on Adventure Park vehicles and equipment including snow cats, snowmobiles, utility vehicles, snowmaking equipment, surface lift, rope tow and all other related equipment.
- Must be proficient and trained on all operating equipment and able to diagnose/understand what are normal/needs to be fixed on equipment as issues arise.
- Assists the Recreation Service Technician in maintaining an inventory of parts, accessories, materials, and tools for re-occurring service requirements.
- Input vehicle, equipment, surface lift, rope tow data in software system/record keeping.
- Diagnose vehicle and equipment issues using provided diagnostic systems.
- Maintains a clean and safe shop facility, storage yard and fuel system.
- Operates equipment safely and in accordance with training, wears appropriate personal protective equipment, and reports any unsafe work conditions or practices to supervisor.
- Maintains all preventative maintenance programs set forth by the Recreation Service Technician and Frisco Adventure Park Operations Manager.
- Follows industry safety practices regarding use of technical equipment. This includes, but is not limited to, the magic carpet, rope tow, snow guns, snow blowers, and all other machinery.
- Utilizes diagnostic and testing equipment such as pressure gauges, compression testers, battery testers and chargers.
- Utilizes hoisting equipment such as vehicle lifts, jack stands and wheel dollies.
- Assists with fluid and equipment lubrication including oil, DEF, greasing, coolant and brake flushes.
- Assists with fabrication and welding for structural repairs of equipment and/or terrain park features. May include equipment operation of, metal grinders, drill press and bench vise.
- Will maintain safe shop work environment by utilizing pressure washer, vacuums, spill containment and PPE as necessary.
- Inspect Frisco Adventure Park for possible hazards and take steps to rectify any hazards and communicate these in a timely manner to management.
- Snow removal utilizing plows, snowblowers and shovels to carry out operations of the Frisco Adventure Park amenities.
- Reports unsafe issues or machinery to management in a timely manner. Takes appropriate action to rectify issue.
- Provide exceptional customer service to all Adventure Park guests by giving appropriate information, directions and conducting all interactions with a smile, eye contact and clear communication.
- Assists in all aspects of Frisco Adventure operations as necessary.
- Assists with Recreation Department special events and operations as needed.
- Communicate in a timely and professional manner with citizens, visitors, and Town of Frisco staff.
- Adheres to all Town of Frisco and Recreation Department policies and procedures, including but not limited to; safety and maintaining grooming / uniform standards.
- Works in a team-based environment supporting the Recreation Department, the Town of Frisco, and the initiatives of the Director and Managers.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
Marginal Duties
- Operate Frisco Adventure Park technical equipment, such as loading and unloading of the magic carpet and rope tow.
- Make snow with snow guns, high pressure water, pump and high voltage electricity.
- Check temperature and humidity multiple times throughout snowmaking shifts and assist in the training of novice staff on procedures.
- Monitor weather to optimize snow production.
- Maximize snow production capabilities through operational variables and shared goals.
- Works with snow making equipment and hand tools to carry out surface preparations at the Frisco Adventure Park and Frisco Nordic Center.
