Cambridge Security Seals is an equal opportunity employer.
Responsibilities
What You'll Do
- Diagnose mold problems (wear, flash, damaged cores and cavities, ejection, cooling and venting) and carry out repairs, escalating complex issues
- Repair and modify multi-cavity injection molds through machining, grinding and polishing, and coordinating outside welding when necessary
- Sustain a preventive maintenance program for every mold, with a repair history for each tool
- Act on work orders from the Manufacturing and Engineering teams, confirm the root cause, and support mold qualification after repairs
- Manage spare components and steel so critical molds are never down for lack of a part
- Support outside mold shops on new molds and major rebuilds: inspect on delivery and assist with first trials
- Keep the tool room safe, organized and clean
Qualifications
What You'll Bring
- 3+ years as a mold machinist or toolmaker on plastic injection molds (5+ preferred); journeyman card or completed apprenticeship preferred
- Hands-on skill on manual and CNC mills, lathes, and surface grinders
- Ability to read and work from mold drawings with GD&T, and to measure precisely

- Working knowledge of SolidWorks or a similar CAD system
- CNC programming (CAM)
- Experience in a small shop handling everything from repairs to vendor management
Work Environment
