Lead DAS Technician – Contract Position
EJO Ventures | Nashville, TN / Memphis, TN
Position: Lead Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Technician
Location: Memphis, TN or Nashville, TN
Employment Type: Contract – Initial 3-Month Term
Contract Extension: Potential extension based on demonstrated performance, technical proficiency, and project requirements
Travel: Required between Nashville and Memphis as project needs dictate
Position Overview
EJO Ventures is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) Technician to support active and upcoming telecommunications infrastructure projects in the Nashville and Memphis markets.
This position will involve a combination of airport and stadium DAS infrastructure projects, requiring an individual with direct, proven experience in DAS installation, troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and field operations.
We are looking for a hands-on technical professional who can work independently, solve complex field challenges, and deliver high-quality installations in demanding, mission-critical environments. Previous experience leading field installation crews or supervising DAS technicians is highly desirable.
This is not an entry-level position. Applicants must have verifiable, hands-on DAS project experience to be considered.
The initial contract term is three (3) months, with the potential for extension based on demonstrated capabilities, reliability, performance, and ongoing project needs.
Key Responsibilities
DAS Installation & Technical Execution
- Lead and perform installation, modification, integration, and troubleshooting of Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS).
- Install and support DAS infrastructure, including coaxial cabling, fiber-optic cabling, antennas, splitters, couplers, connectors, remote units, and associated RF components.
- Perform cable routing, terminations, labeling, equipment mounting, and infrastructure verification in accordance with project specifications.
- Interpret construction drawings, RF design documents, DAS schematics, and installation plans.
- Conduct system testing, troubleshooting, and performance verification using applicable RF test equipment.
- Identify and resolve installation deficiencies, signal issues, connectivity problems, and equipment malfunctions.
- Support system commissioning, punch-list resolution, quality assurance, and project closeout documentation.
- Maintain compliance with applicable safety requirements, installation standards, and customer specifications.
Field Leadership & Project Coordination
- Provide technical direction and oversight to field technicians and installation crews when assigned.
- Coordinate daily field activities to maintain project schedules and installation quality.
- Communicate progress, technical challenges, and project needs to EJO Ventures' project management team.
- Coordinate with general contractors, other trades, airport representatives, stadium personnel, and telecommunications stakeholders.
- Verify completed installations against approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Assist in identifying material requirements, installation constraints, and potential change-order conditions.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate direct, relevant DAS experience. General low-voltage, structured cabling, or telecommunications experience alone will not satisfy this requirement.
- Proven hands-on experience installing, testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning Distributed Antenna Systems.
- Demonstrated experience working on commercial or large-scale DAS infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of RF fundamentals, coaxial infrastructure, fiber-optic connectivity, passive DAS components, and system architecture.
- Ability to interpret DAS construction drawings, equipment layouts, and RF-related documentation.
- Familiarity with RF testing equipment such as spectrum analyzers, cable and antenna analyzers, PIM testers, and related field instrumentation.
- Ability to independently diagnose technical problems and implement appropriate corrective actions.
- Experience working within active construction environments while coordinating with multiple trades.
- Ability to provide verifiable examples of completed DAS projects, including personal responsibilities and technical contributions.
- Strong communication, organizational, and field documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience serving as a Lead DAS Technician, Field Supervisor, Foreman, or Installation Crew Lead.
- Direct DAS project experience in airports, stadiums, arenas, large public venues, or other high-density facilities.
- Experience with public safety DAS, ERRCS, or commercial cellular DAS infrastructure.
- Familiarity with major DAS equipment manufacturers and platforms, including CommScope, Corning, SOLiD, JMA Wireless, ADRF, or similar systems.
- Experience performing RF troubleshooting, PIM testing, sweep testing, and system acceptance testing.
- Relevant manufacturer training, DAS certifications, or industry-recognized RF qualifications.
- Experience with fiber-optic testing and certification.
- Familiarity with security-controlled facilities and airport badging requirements.
Location & Travel Requirements
Candidates must be based in or near Memphis, TN, or Nashville, TN.
- Memphis-based candidates must be available for assignments throughout the Memphis area.
- Nashville-based candidates must be willing and able to travel to Memphis for project assignments.
- Work may involve airport facilities, stadiums, active construction sites, and other secured environments.
- Scheduling may include daytime, nighttime, weekend, or extended shifts depending on project requirements.
Pre-Employment & Contract Requirements
All selected candidates must successfully complete the following before beginning assignments:
- Drug Screening: Must successfully pass a pre-assignment drug screen.
- Background Check: Must successfully complete a background investigation, including any additional screening required for airport or secured-facility access.
- Technical Skillset Evaluation: Must successfully demonstrate DAS-related technical knowledge and practical ability through an evaluation conducted by EJO Ventures.
- Experience Verification: Must provide a verifiable history of direct DAS project involvement, including examples of previous installations, testing, troubleshooting, or commissioning work.
- Travel Availability: Must be able to meet the travel and scheduling requirements associated with assigned projects.
Contract Terms
Initial Contract Duration: Three (3) months.
Extension Opportunity: Contract extensions may be offered based on the technician's demonstrated technical capabilities, productivity, professionalism, reliability, leadership effectiveness, and continued project demand.
Compensation: Competitive, commensurate with proven DAS experience, technical qualifications, and assigned responsibilities.
This is a project-based contract opportunity. Continued engagement beyond the initial three-month term is not guaranteed.
How to Apply
Interested candidates should submit a current resume highlighting their direct DAS experience, along with a brief summary of relevant projects.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to include:
- Names and locations of DAS projects completed, especially airport and stadium projects.
- Specific responsibilities performed, including installation, troubleshooting, testing, or commissioning.
- DAS manufacturers, platforms, and RF testing equipment with which they have direct experience.
- Prior field leadership or crew supervision experience, if applicable.
- Current city of residence and availability to begin work.
EJO Ventures is specifically seeking an experienced DAS technician who can contribute immediately in the field. Candidates without direct, verifiable DAS project experience will not be considered for this position.
