FLSA STATUS: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

The Catering Attendant supports catering operations by assisting with various tasks related to the preparation, setup, service, and cleanup of events.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Greet guests and take food and beverage orders from guests
• Adhere to company, state, county, and city guidelines when serving food and/or alcoholic beverages
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, menus and promotions
• Assists in maintaining, organizing, and cleaning all catering equipment
• Set up tables and chairs for catered events as assigned by the F&B Manager or Catering Supervisor, in a timely and efficient manner
• Set all glassware silverware, dinnerware, and additional set-up necessities in a timely manner.
• Ensure that all catered areas have been left in a sanitary and organized manner
• Serve all functions in a professional, courteous, efficient manner
• Break down all catering areas after event
• Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
• Maintain a professional appearance
• Understand and be capable of ensuring that all policies and procedures are followed
• Performs other duties as required and/or assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

• There are no supervisory responsibilities assigned to this position

• Willingness and drive to exceed guest expectations
• Must be personable, friendly and welcoming
• Knowledge of and ability to execute food and beverage orders accurately
• Must be able to create and serve food and beverage in a timely manner
• Must maintain a well-groomed appearance and good personal hygiene standards
• Subject to credit and background screening

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

• High School diploma or GED required
• Experience in catering, bartending, concessions, and/or other related food and beverage operations preferred 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Must be personable and proactive in providing guests with the highest level of customer service
• Ability to effectively listen and take direction from supervisor
• Must be able to work independently and in a team environment, interacting with multiple departments
• Ability to read, speak, and write English language
• Must be able to communicate in a clear manner with guests and teammates
• Must be able to work flexible hours including nights, weekends and holidays 

COMPUTER SKILLS:

No computer skills are required   

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• Must have or obtain and maintain ServSafe training certification

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Must be able to walk/stand extensively, bend, kneel, climb stairs, balance, and maneuver throughout the various areas and surfaces of the venue
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds or occasionally more with assistance
• Work inside and outside the building is required and may have some exposure to adverse conditions
• Must be able to hear and speak to use a two-way radio
• Work flexible hours, including nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays
