Associated Manager, Finance Operations

Your new position

As an Associated Manager, Finance Operations, you will take ownership of accounting across inventory, tax and VAT, bank and treasury, and intercompany activities. Your main contribution will be a robust financial, operations, tax and internal controls framework relevant to Zealand Pharma, leading to a successful external audit.

The position combines hands-on accounting with process ownership, giving you the opportunity to shape how financial operations scale in a growing biotechnology company. Besides owning these day-to-day areas, you will also take a big part in our SAF-T and ViDA reporting readiness project. You will work closely with colleagues in Finance and across the organization.

We offer exciting responsibilities:

·         Own inventory accounting, including valuation, cost accounting and period-end reconciliations

·         Manage tax and VAT accounting, including reconciliations, reporting and compliance support

·         Take a leading part in our SAF-T and ViDA reporting readiness, from process design and implementation through to optimization

·         Oversee bank and treasury accounting, including cash, foreign exchange and investment transactions

·         Manage intercompany accounting, including transactions and recharges

·         Take part in building and continuously improve a robust financial operations, tax and internal controls framework

·         Prepare for and support the external audit, working toward a successful outcome

Your profile

You are curious, structured and collaborative, with a strong sense of ownership. You find it an exciting challenge to build and keep an overview of the VAT setup in the countries where Zealand Pharma operates, you are curious about each country's rules, and you take satisfaction in setting up processes that keep the company compliant in all countries. You work independently as well as across teams, and you communicate clearly with colleagues who are not finance specialists.

·         Relevant accounting experience, preferably from life sciences

·         Hands-on experience with inventory, tax and VAT, bank and treasury, and intercompany accounting

·         Experience from implementing and optimizing finance processes, ideally in connection with SAF-T, ViDA or similar tax reporting requirements

·         Knowledge of internal controls and audit processes

·         Proficiency in ERP systems, preferably D365, and advanced Excel skills

·         Analytical skills and fluent written and spoken English

·         Degree in accounting, finance or a related field

The Finance Operations team is part of the Finance department and covers all day-to-day transactions, including all postings, payments, financial close and VAT reporting. As the backbone of Finance, we make sure transactions flow accurately and on time, and that the numbers the organization relies on are solid.
