Company Overview
Hamilton Company is a worldwide leader in the design and manufacture of manual, semi-automated and robotic products for precision fluid measuring. We specialize in the development, manufacturing and customization of precision measurement devices, automated liquid handling stations, and sample management systems. For more than 60 years, Hamilton has been satisfying customer needs by combining quality materials with skilled workmanship, ensuring the highest level of performance of every precision fluid measuring device we manufacture.Responsibilities
We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer – PCBA & Electronics to lead end-to-end sourcing, procurement, and supplier management for printed circuit board assemblies (PCBA) and electronic commodities. In this role, you will safeguard continuity of supply, manage material requirements planning (MRP) execution, mitigate supply chain vulnerabilities, and drive measurable cost and performance improvements aligned with product roadmaps. The ideal candidate pairs deep technical familiarity with electronic components and contract manufacturing partners with sharp negotiation acumen and a proven track record of steering cross-functional initiatives in a high-velocity manufacturing setting.
You will oversee daily MRP execution for assigned PCBA assemblies and electronic commodities, actively reviewing order action reports to issue, reschedule, or cancel purchase orders to balance supply with demand. To protect operational continuity, you will quickly address material shortages, maintain target safety-stock levels, and communicate proactive status updates to internal manufacturing teams. You will also manage operational administration by facilitating vendor onboarding, reconciling invoice variances alongside Accounting, reviewing nonconformance reports (NCRs), and expediting supplier returns.
Beyond daily procurement execution, you will champion commercial and supplier-performance strategies. This includes partnering with Engineering, Operations, and key technology suppliers to construct multi-year commodity roadmaps, execute value-engineering cost reductions, and negotiate competitive pricing, master service agreements, and binding supply commitments. Additionally, you will establish and monitor vendor key performance indicators (KPIs), leading formal supplier business reviews, corrective action plans, and continuous-improvement initiatives that elevate vendor accountability from planning through delivery.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must demonstrate an in-depth understanding of PCBA manufacturing processes, active and passive electronic components, engineering drawings, and technical specifications, complemented by an up-to-date awareness of component market volatility and supply chain dynamics. Strong organizational and project management abilities are vital, specifically the capacity to prioritize competing deadlines, exercise sound commercial judgment, and execute assignments with minimal supervision. Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and written communication skills are essential to influence cross-functional peers, align stakeholders across all organizational levels, and thrive within a fast-moving production environment. Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook, is required.
Education/Experience
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a closely related discipline from a regionally accredited institution. Professional experience requirements include at least seven years of progressive purchasing or commodity-management experience, with a minimum of five years dedicated specifically to managing PCBA and electronic commodities. Candidates must also possess at least five years of direct experience collaborating with electronic contract manufacturing (EMS) partners, along with demonstrated experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) lifecycles. Prior exposure to commercial contract development, formal strategic sourcing methodologies, and modern enterprise resource planning (ERP) platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 or SAP is strongly preferred.
