Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy interventions under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist.
• Assist patients recovering from strokes, neurological conditions, orthopedic injuries, surgery, and other disabling illnesses or injuries.
• Help patients improve activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, bathing, grooming, mobility, and functional independence.
• Implement individualized treatment plans and monitor patient progress.
• Educate patients and caregivers on adaptive techniques, safety, and the use of assistive equipment.
• Document treatments, patient responses, and progress accurately in the medical record.
• Collaborate with occupational therapists, physical therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and other interdisciplinary team members.
• Support patients in achieving rehabilitation goals and preparing for a safe discharge.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
• Current NBCOT certification as a COTA, as applicable.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure in the state of practice.
• Experience in inpatient rehabilitation, acute care, or another clinical setting preferred.
• Strong communication, organizational, and patient-care skills.
• Commitment to delivering safe, compassionate, patient-centered care.
