Accounting Director

GHJ Search and Staffing serves as the recruitment division of GHJ, a prominent national accounting and advisory firm. Our team provides qualified Accounting and Finance professionals on a temporary and permanent basis across a broad range of industries. The Accounting Director will oversee all accounting functions, financial reporting, cost accounting, and internal controls for a our client, a growing manufacturing company in Gwinnett County.

This role partners closely with operations and executive leadership to drive profitability, improve processes, and ensure financial accuracy.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all accounting operations, including general ledger, AR/AP, payroll, and fixed assets
• Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP
• Manage cost accounting functions, including standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation
• Partner with operations to analyze production costs, margins, and efficiency metrics
• Develop and maintain budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, policies, and external regulations
• Coordinate audits and serve as the primary liaison with external auditors
• Drive process improvements and ERP system optimization
• Supervise and mentor accounting staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
