Professional Quantity Surveyor
A leading multi-disciplinary consulting firm is seeking to appoint a Professional Quantity Surveyor to join its growing team in Stellenbosch. The successful candidate will form part of a dynamic Quantity Surveying Department and work closely with Architecture, Engineering, and Project Management teams across a diverse portfolio of projects. This is an exciting opportunity for a professionally registered Quantity Surveyor who is passionate about delivering high-quality cost management and commercial advisory services within the built environment. Responsibilities: Cost Planning & Estimating • Review and evaluate design documentation and project requirements. • Prepare preliminary and detailed cost estimates for projects. • Conduct feasibility studies, viability assessments, and cost planning exercises. • Prepare damage costings and determine value-at-risk assessments where required. Contract Documentation & Procurement • Compile Bills of Quantities and contract documentation. • Assist with procurement processes and tender documentation. • Conduct financial evaluation and analysis of tenders. • Support contract negotiations and procurement strategies. Cost Management & Contract Administration • Administer project cash flow forecasts and cost reports. • Prepare valuations, variation orders, and contractual claims. • Monitor project expenditure and cost control measures. • Prepare, review, and negotiate final accounts. • Ensure contractual compliance throughout project lifecycles. Project Coordination & Stakeholder Engagement • Attend client, consultant, and project meetings. • Liaise and collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including Project Managers, Architects, Engineers, and Quantity Surveyors. • Build and maintain strong client relationships. • Provide professional cost and commercial advice throughout project delivery. Requirements: • BTech or BSc Degree in Quantity Surveying. • Professional Registration as a Pr.QS is essential. • Minimum 4–5 years post-registration experience within a Quantity Surveying environment. • Experience of up to 6–10 years will be advantageous. • Valid driver's licence. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment. Technical Skills • Proficiency in WINQS. • Experience using DIMX. • Strong Microsoft Word skills. • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency.
