Job Description – Rotating Equipment Engineer
Location: Houston, TX
Employment Type: Direct Hire
The Rotating Equipment Engineer will support the engineering, design, and execution of large‑scale energy and industrial process facilities. This role will focus on rotating equipment specification, vendor coordination, and lifecycle support from design through commissioning, while interfacing closely with process, electrical, construction, and project execution teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead engineering activities for rotating equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, blowers, and packaged units
- Develop equipment specifications, data sheets, and outlines for RFQs and bid evaluations
- Review vendor drawings, calculations, and data to ensure compliance with project and industry standards
- Support equipment selection, FAT/SAT activities, installation, commissioning, and startup
- Interface with process and mechanical teams to ensure proper integration of rotating equipment into overall system design
- Provide technical support to construction and field teams as needed
- Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and internal engineering practices
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 8+ years of experience supporting rotating equipment on large industrial, energy, or infrastructure projects
- Strong experience with equipment specification, vendor interface, and lifecycle support
- Familiarity with applicable API, ASME, and industry standards
- Experience supporting projects through execution and commissioning phases
- Strong communication and cross‑discipline coordination skills
