Equipment Service Technician
A well-established company is seeking experienced and hands-on Service Technician to join their technical team in George. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and technically skilled individual with strong electrical and mechanical fault-finding abilities to work within a fast-paced service environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, repair, and troubleshooting of bakery and food-service equipment while delivering excellent customer service and technical support. Responsibilities: Technical Service & Maintenance: • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and mechanical faults on bakery and food-service equipment. • Conduct maintenance, servicing, and repairs on machinery and equipment at client sites. • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance and reliability. • Complete detailed job cards, service reports, and maintenance documentation accurately and timeously. • Provide technical support and practical solutions to customers and operational teams. Site & Customer Support: • Maintain professional and positive relationships with customers at all times. • Ensure a high standard of workmanship, professionalism, and customer service delivery. • Travel to client sites, branches, and service trips when required. • Participate in standby duties and work overtime as operationally required. General: • Maintain a safe and clean working environment while adhering to company procedures and safety standards. • Work independently and as part of a team within a physically demanding environment. • Represent the company professionally while maintaining high ethical standards and reliability. Requirements: • Electrical and Mechanical qualification, diploma, certificate, or partial qualification (N1–N3, Millwright, or similar) will be advantageous. • Strong practical electrical and mechanical experience is essential, with practical experience outweighing formal qualifications. • Excellent fault-finding and troubleshooting skills. • Experience in the maintenance of machinery, factory equipment, or industrial equipment will be beneficial. • Ability to complete job cards and technical reports accurately. • Fully bilingual with strong communication skills. • Valid Code B or EB driver’s licence. • Strong customer relations and communication skills. • Honest, reliable, punctual, ethical, and self-motivated individual. • Physically fit and able to perform physically demanding work. • Willingness to work standby, overtime, and travel when required.
