Brown & Brown is seeking a Technology Solutions Database Administrator to join our growing team!
The Technology Solutions Database Administrator provides technical leadership for Oracle application development, database management, performance tuning, and production support. Ensures Oracle applications and databases remain secure, reliable, and scalable while promoting continuous improvement in development and database administration best practices.
How You Will Contribute:
Define and enforce coding standards, development frameworks, design patterns, and deployment processes across the Technology organization.
Design, develop, test, implement, and support Oracle-based applications, packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and integrations.
Develop and optimize complex SQL and PL/SQL code to support business applications and improve system performance.
Collaborate with business stakeholders, architects, and Technology teams to translate business requirements into scalable and maintainable Oracle solutions.
Perform database design, data modeling, schema management, and data integrity validation activities.
Monitor and tune database and application performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimization strategies.
Administer Oracle databases, including installation, configuration, patching, upgrades, cloning, and environment management.
Manage database security, user access, roles, privileges, and compliance with organizational standards.
Develop and maintain backup, recovery, disaster recovery, and business continuity procedures to ensure data protection and system availability.
Skills & Experience to be Successful:
Ability to communicate by clearly conveying information to individuals or groups
Speaks clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations; listens and gets clarification; responds well to questions.
Ability to evaluate and mentor new team members
Advanced knowledge of Java. Java Cert preferred - UCSD, UCI (Recommended courses: CSE-41242, CSE-40479, CSE-40480, CSE-40481, CSE-40482, Java Design Patterns, OO Design, Agile Design, Design Patterns)
Advanced knowledge of back-end SQL databases (SQL Server, Oracle, DB2) (Recommended courses: CSE-40933, CSE-40948, Relational Databases)
Advanced knowledge of Spring, JSP, Javascript, HTML, CSS, XML, XSL (Recommended courses: CSE-41207, CSE-41208, CSE-41209)
Advanced knowledge and understanding of web services and related technologies and Java frameworks for building web services
Complete understanding of Arrowhead's payment processing workflow
Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts
Bachelor's degree with a concentration in technology or mathematics
Pay Range
$140,000.00 - $140,000.00 AnnualThe pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
