Description
Our Colorado Springs office is seeking a full-time Engineer in Training to support our Construction Administration group. The ideal candidate will have experience in on-site construction documentation, coordinating with contractors, and ensuring that work adheres to engineering specifications and quality control standards. We are looking for someone with great communication skills who enjoys being part of a team environment. We are seeking a self-starter with a high attention to detail that wants to work in a professional setting advancing their career in civil engineering construction. Additionally, you will collaborate with other disciplines, project managers and support staff, as well as our clients, to ensure the successful completion of tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Review and approve shop drawings, requests for information (RFI’s), and other technical submissions to ensure they meet design intent and comply with standards and specifications.
- Perform on-site assessments, observations, and quality checks to document progress of work through daily reporting.
- Assist project manager with schedule review, budget tracking, change orders, weekly progress meetings, and communicating project status to clients.
- Coordinate with other disciplines both internal and external.
Required Skills:
- Strong work ethic and an understanding of engineering construction principles.
- Experience with Bluebeam, scheduling software, and Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) specifications.
- Proven teamwork and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite products including Word and Excel.
- Good intrapersonal skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate thoughts and ideas to peers, senior staff, and clients.
- Ability to travel to job sites and project offices.
Required Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related curriculum from an ABET accredited school.
- Engineering Intern Certification or ability to obtain certification within 6 months of hire date.
- 2 years’ experience in general civil and/or transportation engineering construction.
- Ability to effectively work with other engineers and contractors.
Hourly Earnings: $37.00 - $40.00 (Depending on Experience)
