Our esteemed client, an ultra-luxury resort nestled in the pristine beauty of the Maldives, is actively seeking a dynamic and seasoned Spa Manager. 

As a Spa Manager who oversees the vast holistic wellness offerings in the well-established eco-friendly and wellness destination resort, you are responsible for managing the entire spa operations and wellness department, including the resort fitness classes, personalised lifestyle assessments, full-day wellness programs and breathwork and meditation sessions, as well as managing the extensive calendar of visiting experts, doctors, and practitioners.

The Spa Manager will be responsible for ensuring the achievement of sales goals business objectives, and profitability.

Requirements

  • 1+ year of demonstrated experience as a Spa or Wellness Manager
  • Holds internationally recognised qualifications in one of these fields of study: CAM/Fitness/Spa/Nutrition/Wellbeing or other holistic studies
  • Active personal involvement with the sales strategy/process, with emphasis on continuing to increase visibility and positioning of the Wellness Program.
  • Resorts, hotels, or Destination Spa experience is a plus.
  • Well aware of Spa & Wellness trends and up to date with new practices in the global wellness market.
  • Excellent at handling a multicultural team in a remote destination setting.
  • Solid knowledge in marketing, sales and revenue generation.
  • Very good command of written and spoken English.
  • A second spoken language would be preferred.
  • Previous experience in remote island operations is beneficial.


Responsibilities

FINANCE

  • Ensure that expenses and tickets are entered into the system correctly and all internal auditing procedures are followed.
  • Check the overall performance of finance to assess, in coordination with Director of Wellbeing, productivity and make adjustments if necessary (marketing, schedules, etc.)
  • Maximize AREKA revenue in order to reach and when possible, exceed budgeted targets.
  • Protect and use AREKA assets in a responsible and professional manner, ensuring that the staff (active, external, or temporary) in turn assume this responsibility.
  • Drive AREKA sales for both product and services
  • Prepare the P&L in coordination with the Director of Wellbeing and establish and maintain AREKA revenue budget
  • Monitoring in-treatment product usage and inventory maximizing the use of products and amenities.

RECRUITMENT

  • Provide job descriptions and requirements for the positions of the department.
  • Provide interviews and assessments to define the best candidates for the required positions.
  • Clearly communicate the brand vision for their team members and associates, including potential candidates and temporary or external collaborators.
  • Provide inductions to new team members and external collaborators to be aligned with the brand.

TEAM MANAGEMENT AND DEVELOPMENT

  • Be responsible for working hours and authorization of days off and holidays.
  • Manage the teams of spa concierge, Wellbeing therapists and Wellbeing consultants.
  • Provide feedback to the team reviewing what works and what does not, this may be a group or individually depending on the case.
  • Communicate clear and specific goals for the team. Monitor its compliance, reinforcing its compliance.
  • Receive external or temporary instructors and therapists and give them an induction in the ways of brand standards.
  • Ensure that the team will follow up on the individual needs of guests and fully understand and embrace brand standards, ensuring successful application and communication across all levels of the operation.
  • Ensure that the work team consistently meets the guest service standards established by
  • Work in coordination with the Wellbeing Trainer in the development of the training plan and succession plans and KPIs for evaluation of team members performance.
  • Commit to the team members integral development, helping develop and maintaining succession plans and providing opportunities to assume new responsibilities and wellness challenges.
  • Ensure consistent compliance with company policies and applicable legal requirements. Hold regular team meetings to ensure that communication is effective and consistent. Inform and update staff on events, therapists, and guest instructors and therapists

GUEST SERVICES & FACILITIES

  • Attend and respond to important emails directly.
  • Participate in research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure a competitive position in the international market.
  • Engage in the training of the team to better integrate services and brand standards.
  • Conduct pre-service briefing.
  • Conduct quality control of the services offered.
  • Develop the SOPs for all hygienic and safety standards in AREKA.
  • OTHERS
  • Participate in research, development, evaluation and implementation of new products, services, technology and processes to ensure a competitive position in the international market
  • Attends and contributes to the daily and weekly meetings.
  • Maintain an open mind of innovation to bring forward ideas on how to improve brand standards and services in all areas.
  • Supervise the AKTAR learning center and sales.
  • Ensure wellness concierges are up to speed with all services.
  • Develop SOP for all areas under management.
  • Participate and deliver training to and from other departments.
  • Survey guests' satisfaction and if necessary, immediately take the required corrective measures.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Management.
  • Dare to lead with empathy and compassion while ensuring the impeccable delivery of services as promised by the brand standards.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS

  • The KPIs will be appraised using the following indicators:
  • Achievement of established targets in terms of sales and spa revenue.
  • Achievement of targets for capture ratio.
  • Achievement of their own personal targets per the established period.
  • Own levels of satisfaction and happiness.
  • Customer satisfaction index and other guest engagement related reports.
  • Employee satisfaction index and other employee engagement related reports.
