About the Role

This role is responsible for monitoring regulatory developments at Group and Business Unit level, facilitating effective communications between Group and BUs, effective reporting to management and executive committees and helping to maximize the value from regulatory engagement.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Group Regulatory Developments

• Scan for regulatory developments, including regulatory consultations in Hong Kong, Bermuda or globally that could impact the AIA Group or its Hong Kong and Bermuda subsidiaries;
• Effectively communicate regulatory developments and consultations to key stakeholders across the AIA Group and its related subsidiaries. 
• Aggregate, consolidate and submit feedback on regulatory consultations.  Arrange internal discussions and sign-offs as appropriate.
• Consolidate feedback on the impact of these regulatory developments, and ensure effective communication of the changes and impact to Group management and executive committees.
• Document and categorise regulatory developments, impact and feedback for future reference. 
• Build and maintain effective and constructive relationships with stakeholders at AIA Group, AIA Hong Kong and AIA Re, including but not limited to Risk & Compliance, Legal, Company Secretary, Actuarial, Finance, Investments, ESG and Group Internal Audit

BU Regulatory Developments and Engagements

• Request, aggregate and consolidate information on key regulatory developments (including consultations) and regulatory engagements at AIA business unit level, received from members of the AIA regulatory council
• Identify and track common regulatory themes across business units.
• Develop a simple system to track regulatory themes occurring in different business units over time.
• Effectively communicate key BU regulatory developments and themes to key stakeholders at AIA Group, including relevant committees

Regulatory Council

• Coordinate and manage the quarterly Regulatory Council meetings, with members from each business unit.
• Identify and develop suitable topics for discussion at the Council meetings, working with the Director of Regulatory affairs, Head of Group Compliance and the Group CRO.
• Develop content and distribute materials before the Regulatory Council meetings
• Capture actions arising from the Regulatory Council meetings and follow-up with stakeholders where required.
• Build and maintain effective and constructive relationships with BU Risk and Compliance stakeholders (and other functions as required)
• Work with the Director of Regulatory affairs, Head of Group Compliance and Group CRO to develop and manage mini-projects designed to maximise the value of the Regulatory Council

Regulatory Deliverables (20%)

• Coordinate the timely delivery of regulatory deliverables, engaging stakeholders at Group and business unit where required
• Provide regular status updates to management.

Miscellaneous (10%)

• Support the Director of Regulatory Affairs on internal management reporting, responding to regulatory queries and arranging / managing internal / external meetings;
• Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor to meet operational and/or other requirements.

Minimum Job Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree.
• At least 10 years of work experience in the financial industry.
• Broad and deep knowledge of the business operations of a financial company’s (preferably insurance company’s) business operations and regulations.
• Proven management-level stakeholder engagement experience.
• Critical thinking and highly effective in influencing stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure, successfully planning and delivering multiple projects concurrently in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to present information in a clear and compelling manner to a variety of audiences and cultures.
