About the role
In this role, you will lead key customer relationships and support the delivery of strategic and commercial plans across your allocated customer base. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to develop joint business plans, manage trade investment, support forecasting and deliver profitable portfolio growth.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and execute customer strategies and action plans across the Independent channel.
- Build trusted relationships with key customers and lead customer negotiations, range reviews, pricing discussions and trade planning.
- Support the delivery of financial targets, including net sales, gross contribution, margin and EBITDA-R.
- Manage trade spend and customer investment plans to drive profitable growth.
- Prepare accurate sales and demand forecasts, working closely with cross-functional teams as part of the monthly forecast cycle.
- Use customer, category and market insights to identify opportunities and inform business plans.
- Collaborate across Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Marketing and the broader Baking BU to deliver customer and business objectives.

About you
You are commercially minded, proactive and confident building strong relationships with customers and internal stakeholders. You enjoy working in a fast-paced FMCG environment, can translate data into practical insights, and are comfortable managing competing priorities while keeping a strong focus on delivery.
To be successful, you will bring:
- At least 3–4 years’ experience in a similar sales, account management or business development role.
- Experience working within Grocery and Independent channels, ideally within FMCG or food manufacturing.
- Strong commercial acumen, including forecasting, P&L management, trade spend and customer planning.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, influencing and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to analyse sales and market information and convert insights into customer and category growth plans.
- A collaborative, resilient and action-oriented approach, with the confidence to challenge the status quo and bring others on the journey.
- Qualifications in Commerce, Business Development or a related discipline.
