Associate / AVP Project Finance – Madrid
Function positioning
As an Associate / AVP within the Project Finance team, you will support the origination, analysis, structuring and execution of Project Finance transactions across a range of sectors. Working closely with clients and internal stakeholders, you will contribute throughout the transaction lifecycle, from due diligence and financial modelling through to documentation and closing.
The role includes the following:
- Support the analysis, structuring and execution of Project Finance transactions
- Conduct financial, commercial and credit due diligence on new opportunities
- Review financial statements, financial models, market studies, engineering reports and legal documentation
- Build and analyse financial models to assess project viability and financing structures
- Analyse credit documentation, financing terms and covenant packages
- Prepare credit applications, transaction summaries and risk assessments for approval committees
- Support transaction execution, including KYC, legal due diligence and closing processes
- Prepare client presentations, marketing materials and sector research
- Work closely with Credit, Legal, Compliance and Product teams to ensure successful transaction execution
What will help you succeed in this role:
Experience & Knowledge
- Experience in Project Finance, Structured Finance, Investment Banking, Corporate Banking or Credit Analysis
- Experience supporting financing transactions and conducting financial and credit analysis
- Understanding of project finance structures and risk assessment
- Knowledge of financial modelling, cash flow analysis and credit fundamentals
- Familiarity with financing documentation and project-related contracts
- Exposure to infrastructure, energy, renewables or other project-financed sectors is an advantage
Skills
- Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
- Ability to assess financial, commercial and credit risks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to tight deadlines
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Fluency in both Spanish and English
