Description
What you will do -
The Production Planning Specialist is responsible for supporting production planning activities that enable efficient manufacturing operations while meeting customer demand, inventory targets, and service level expectations. This role partners with Operations, Supply Chain, Purchasing, Commercial, and Quality teams to develop and execute production schedules, monitor planning performance, and resolve day-to-day supply challenges.
- Develop and maintain weekly production schedules and short- to mid-range production plans to support customer demand and operational requirements.
- Monitor production capacity and partner with Operations to identify scheduling constraints and recommend production plan adjustments.
- Support daily execution of supply plans by tracking schedule adherence and coordinating changes with Production teams.
- Monitor backorders, inventory levels, and service performance, escalating issues as appropriate.
- Support RDI planning activities, including product runout tracking and execution coordination.
- Prepare planning reports and support communication between Operations, Commercial, Supply Chain, and Quality teams.
- Participate in Tier 2 meetings by communicating planning status, supply risks, production constraints, and schedule impacts.
- Assist with finished goods inventory planning to maintain appropriate inventory levels.
- Identify planning issues and participate in Root Cause Countermeasure (RCCM) activities to improve planning performance and execution.
- Communicate production forecasts and material requirements to Purchasing to support raw material availability.
- Maintain planning master data and support planning system maintenance activities as required.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on planning accuracy, schedule attainment, inventory optimization, and operational efficiency.
