Role Description
Provide tactical and technical advisory services to ensure Arcadis' Civil Design and Geotechnical Engineering teams derive maximum value from the portfolio of engineering applications, platforms, and services. The role acts as a strategic link between Civil and Geotechnical Engineering business stakeholders, software vendors, and Arcadis Technology teams to drive adoption, innovation, operational excellence, and effective software utilization across project delivery, digital engineering, and design workflows.
Role Accountabilities
Business Partnering & Civil / Geotechnical Engineering Engagement
- Provide consultancy, best practices, and subject matter expertise to global Civil Design & Geotechnical Engineering teams and related business stakeholders.
- Act as a technical and functional advisor for civil engineering, geotechnical engineering and associated platforms, applications, and workflows.
- Engage with Civil and Geotechnical Engineering leaders, technical specialists, and project teams to understand business requirements and translate them into platform and application improvements.
- Collaborate with Arcadis operational teams to support application adoption, pursuits, project delivery, and digital engineering initiatives within the Civil Design & Geotechnical Engineering disciplines.
- Promote the effective use of civil and geotechnical engineering software and digital workflows that improve engineering quality, efficiency, and project outcomes.
- Identify opportunities to leverage emerging technologies, automation, AI, and data-driven approaches within engineering processes.
- Represent Arcadis Technology in meetings with strategic civil & geotechnical engineering software vendors and enterprise vendor teams.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with key software vendors, influencing product roadmaps, support models, and commercial outcomes where appropriate.
- Support vendor performance reviews, software evaluations, contract renewals, and commercial negotiations to ensure value realization and alignment with Arcadis objectives.
- Maintain awareness of developments within the engineering software market and assess emerging solutions for potential adoption.
- Help administer, maintain, and optimize engineering project data and workflows within Common Data Environments (CDEs), including the application of AI-enabled capabilities.
- Assist with application patches, upgrades, enhancements, and lifecycle management activities.
- Help track, forecast, and analyse platform utilisation, licence consumption, and adoption trends.
- Support monitoring of cloud platform performance and desktop application metrics.
- Support management of the App Store software catalogue and software standardisation initiatives.
- Provide support for escalated Level 3 platform-related technical queries and incidents.
- Drive awareness and adoption of approved engineering applications, standards, and digital delivery workflows associated with Civil and Geotechnical Engineering
- Facilitate knowledge sharing between Civil Design & Geotechnical Engineering teams, Technology teams, and software vendors.
- Support training, user engagement activities, and communities of practice within the Civil Design & Geotechnical Engineering domain.
- Support software governance initiatives including licence optimisation, application rationalisation, and platform standardisation.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Engineering Geology, Infrastructure Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline.
- Good understanding of civil infrastructure design, geotechnical engineering principles, and engineering project delivery lifecycles.
- Experience working with, supporting, or administering engineering software platforms and associated technologies used within Civil Design and Geotechnical Engineering environments.
- Ability to independently solve problems and accomplish tasks in a logical, methodical, and efficient manner.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working collaboratively within global and multidisciplinary teams.
- Project management skills with the ability to lead small to medium-scale initiatives from inception to delivery.
- Understanding of software licensing, vendor management, and contract administration within an engineering environment.
- Knowledge of industry-leading engineering applications such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Autodesk Forma, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, Bentley OpenFlows, PLAXIS 3D, Bentley ProjectWise, or similar engineering platforms.
- Experience supporting Common Data Environments (CDEs), BIM-enabled workflows, and digital engineering practices.
- Familiarity with AI, automation, scripting, or data analytics technologies applicable to civil and geotechnical engineering delivery.
