For this role you will ideally possess an energy connections, renewables or power background, however, other infrastructure construction considered such as highways, rail, civil engineering. We require a junior or experienced Estimator with experience in take off measurements, bill of quantities preparation and obtaining information from the teams for pricing of tenders/bids. The role:The Estimator will be responsible for the timely preparation of estimates and presentation to the Pre-con team prior to management approval to enable the securing of potentially profitable work for the organisation, and ensure that bids are attractive to our customers. The successful candidate will contribute to our company's growth and reputation by supporting the delivery of high-quality, competitive bids that align with project requirements and strategic objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare EstimatesInterpreting client tender requirements from PQQ and ITT documentationTake off and review the BoQ’s from the client informationPrepare estimates in accordance with Company procedures promptlyCollate supporting information during the estimating process, including opportunity and risk registers, together with key assumptions registers.Work collaboratively with the Bid Manager, Quantity Surveyors, and planner to agree on methodology and principles.Work alongside the Business Development officers on strategic PQQ’s and ITTs.Work in partnership with the procurement team.Prepare the estimating adjudication packPresent the basis of the estimate and key assumptionsMaintain notes of adjudication meetingsClose out actions and monitor customer negotiations, seeking amended authority as requiredHandover to site teams at contract awardPrepare to estimate the handover packPresent the basis of the estimate and key assumptionsMaintain notes of the handover meetingProvide ongoing support to site teams relating to estimating and key assumptionsEssential:Proven estimating experience with in infrastructure construction projects, ideally energy/power, other sectors considered.Competence in construction techniques and the associated resource requirements for the above sectorsProficient with tender build-upsExperience in take off measurements, BoQ and pricingFully conversant with the Microsoft suite of packagesNumerate and familiar with estimating softwareA confident demeanour and the ability to liaise with all levels of personnel and customersCauseway Estimating Software experience or similar, Excel.Degree qualified in construction management, quantity surveying, civil or electrical engineering or similar.
