The Importance of the Role

The Global Medical Affairs Lead (GMAL) – RNA, is a key contributor to the GMAL team within the Global Medical Affairs (GMA) department. As GMALs, we drive medical strategy and tactics to establish and elevate the impact of Sarepta’s science and therapies. This role will contribute to our mission through strategic and tactical scientific support of Sarepta’s RNA therapies for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD).

The Opportunity to Make a Difference

  • Serve as an integral member of the GMAL team, contributing to:
    • Contribute to the development and execution of GMA strategy for product launch and life-cycle management to bring alignment on key initiatives for therapeutic area in line with overall Corporate and Medical priorities in close collaboration with RNA GMAL
    • Often represents GMA on key committees & governance teams to provide medical and scientific advice on Sarepta product development strategies and bring output and insight back to GMA. Is seen as SME and ensures external stakeholder's needs are considered.
    • Identify data gaps and drive data generation initiatives, including participation into IIS/SRA program. Driving of data generation and dissemination initiatives.
    • Develop scientific narratives that align the organization on key, scientifically supported messages
    • Analysis of clinical, non-clinical, real-world data and post-hoc analyses
    • Provide medical input on real-world evidence generation initiatives including IIS/SRA, registries, and HEOR studies
  • Co-lead program publication plans to bridge research/clinical plans to commercialization. Co-develop and review abstracts and manuscripts.
  • Contribute to congress, symposia, advisory board and expert committee strategy development and creation of content. Use output to help inform GMA and key organizational activities. Occasionally represent GMA on cross-functional teams.
  • Develop medical materials (including slides and field materials) for PMO and DMD, ensure cross-program alignment, and participate in review processes.
  • Collaborate with GMAL team, to collect, organize, and analyze relevant disease state and competitor data for RNA therapies; timely and routinely share new data finding and key learnings across GMA.
  • Connect insights, data, and technology to enable best decisions for GMA and Program Teams; orchestrate action for GMA on insights.
  • Deliver training based on identified needs and proactive initiatives to internal stakeholders
  • Build strong relationships that foster working effectively and in close collaboration with cross-functional partners to plan and execute tactics.
  • Build PMO and DMD competency and profile within Sarepta through education and training in line with scientific narratives
  • Remain informed of current developments within pertinent medical and scientific communities through familiarity with current literature, attendance at scientific meetings, conventions, professional associations of physicians.
  • Act as SME to review and/or approve medical and promotional material, prepare and deliver presentations, cover Congress science and medical booth, and input into CME/Sponsorship reviews and AOIs.
  • Act as role model of integrity and compliance
  • Perform other related duties as needed
  • Work hybrid and/or travel at least quarterly for internal meetings and as needed for key conferences

More about You

  • Doctorate degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in gene therapy, rare disease, neuromuscular disorders or related field with a minimum of 3 years of pharmaceutical industry experience preferred
  • Analytical, with a track record of delivering against goals while working in high performing diverse teams
  • Articulate with excellent communication and influencing skills; effective presenter
  • Ability to work independently towards successful outcomes, anticipate issues and solutions, and proactively seek guidance where needed; Steps in to assist and relieve other workloads as required
  • Proven strategic thinking skills and ability to interpret and implement strategic directions; demonstrates business acumen
  • Identifies issues that may delay timelines and recommends appropriate action to be taken.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate effectively and collaboratively in highly matrixed organizations where influencing skills and personal action are critical to day-to-day success

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $0 - $0 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.
