Job Description:
POSITION SUMMARY
The Supervisor, Retail Pharmacy Technician oversees the daily operations, staffing, customer service, and administrative functions of the retail pharmacy support team. This role provides leadership to pharmacy technicians, clerks, and front-end support staff to ensure efficient operations, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.
As a working supervisor, this position actively supports pharmacy workflow while assisting with staff scheduling, onboarding, inventory oversight, cash handling, and specialty product coordination. Strong leadership, organizational, and customer service skills are essential to support pharmacy operations and patient care.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Active California Pharmacy Technician License required.
Knowledge/Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of retail pharmacy, community pharmacy, or healthcare retail experience required.
Prior supervisory, lead, or staff training experience preferred.
Experience with DME, wound care, diabetic supplies, compression products, or specialty retail medical products preferred.
Experience with cash handling, inventory management, and customer service escalation required.
Skills:
Strong leadership and team development skills.
Excellent customer service, conflict resolution, and communication abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Knowledge of retail pharmacy operations, inventory systems, and workflow management.
Ability to independently resolve staffing and operational challenges.
Working knowledge of pharmacy billing, DME products, and patient support services preferred.
Proficiency with pharmacy systems, scheduling tools, and standard office software.
