Full-Time Contract Positions (until March 31, 2027)

Locations: 1) Vaughan, ON, 2) Newmarket, ON and 3) Richmond Hill, ON.
Location can change based on program needs.
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The York Region Preschool Speech and Language Program is administered by Oak Valley Health (OVH). We provide a coordinated community based speech and language service for children, birth to school entry. The program engages in collaborative service delivery with other community agencies such as Early Intervention Services, the Children’s Treatment Network and the York-Simcoe Autism Network (YSAN). Flexibility to provide services across York Region and in a variety of settings (e.g., clinic, child care centres, entry to school programs, virtual) is required.
Responsibilities include:
- carrying a caseload of children under the supervision of Speech Language Pathologists
- providing group and paired therapy
- supporting families by offering daytime and evening caregiver workshops
- home, child care and community consultation visits
- providing consultative support to Entry to School Programs offered through YSAN
- position will include supporting children with special needs
- ability to offer services in more than one language is highly preferred
- preparation work - including boardmaker material, parent education material and therapy materials
- general office support
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
- Communicative Disorders Assistant Diploma
- Previous experience with a preschool speech and language program as well as experience supporting families with children who have special needs are considered an asset
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within the team
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrated good attendance record with the ability to maintain this same standard
- Valid driver’s license and access to a car
- Demonstrates a commitment to a healthy and safe workplace for self and others (staff, patients, families, etc.) by taking all reasonable precautions and working in compliance with hospital related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices and completing relevant mandatory education as required.

Occasional evening work (e.g., virtual parent workshops)
