Salary Range: $1,000–$1,200/month
Role Overview
As the Senior Architect and Team Leader, you will oversee the design and delivery of complex, joinery-intensive Design & Build projects from conceptualization through final completion. You will act as the primary liaison with clients and consultants and ensure design quality across a range of commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects. This role calls for leadership, hands-on involvement, and a dedication to design excellence.
Who is This Role For
This role is ideal for an experienced architect with a compelling creative vision and strong technical expertise. You should be comfortable presenting design concepts to clients, mentoring junior staff, managing multifaceted projects, and collaborating across disciplines. If you have a proven ability to resolve intricate design issues and lead teams, you will thrive in this environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle of Design & Build projects, overseeing concept development, schematic design, detailed documentation, and as-built stages.
- Serve as the main representative of the studio by presenting design concepts and intentions directly to clients and key stakeholders.
- Guide, mentor, and manage a team of mid-level and junior architects, fostering a collaborative and high-performance studio culture.
- Maintain rigorous standards of architectural quality by overseeing the preparation of project documentation, material libraries, permit drawings, and shop drawings.
- Direct project schedules, allocate resources, and manage deliverables to ensure milestones and client objectives are met efficiently.
- Collaborate closely with interior designers, engineering teams, external consultants, and in-house workshop staff.
- Conduct site surveys and inspections, lead coordination meetings, and resolve technical or design issues that arise during project execution.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Architecture or Interior Architecture.
- Have 5–10 years of experience in architecture or interior architecture, including at least 3 years in a team leadership or management role.
- Provide a strong portfolio that demonstrates the ability to develop original, contextual, and highly buildable design concepts, particularly within hospitality, F&B, retail, or joinery-focused interiors.
- Demonstrate advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit/BIM or ArchiCAD, SketchUp, Lumion, and the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience with AI-assisted rendering tools is highly advantageous but not required.
- Show deep knowledge of construction documentation, material specifications, detailing, and local building compliance.
- Exhibit exceptional communication and presentation skills, and demonstrate a strong capacity for client collaboration and cross-functional teamwork.
